Larad became Lord Holder of Telgar at the age of 15, sometime between the years 430 and 438 of the Second Long Interval (2487-2495 AL) after his father died in an accident generally believed to have been the work of Fax.
In the last year of the Second Long Interval, he, along with Meron of Nabol, lead the aborted assault on Benden Weyr. He is half-brother to Kylara, Thella, and Famira, the wife of Lord Asgenar of Lemos.
