Tear is a country in the Wheel of Time series. It is in the far southeast, on the Sea of Storms, and close to the Spine of The World. It does not border directly on any other country, only on Haddon Mirk and the Plains of Maredo, but it is close to Mayene, Illian, Aringill, Far Madding, and Cairhien. It includes its capital city, also called Tear, and the city of Godan. Its inhabitants are called Tairens.

As of the beginning of The Fires of Heaven, Tear is under the control of Rand al'Thor. Tairen soldiers have been sent to restore order in Cairhien.
